We offer day trips lasting 6 or 8 hours to the picturesque Danube Bend, covering 7 points near Budapest and driving along the Danube River. The journey takes us to the old historical city center of Szentendre, where you can stroll through charming little streets and perhaps shop for unique handcrafted souvenirs in this artist village. We then drive to the cities of Visegrad and Esztergom, the latter boasting the monumental Catholic Basilica, the largest in Hungary. Throughout the trip, we make several stops to enjoy the stunning nature along the Danube and explore the green forests of the Visegrad area. We visit a museum in the old medieval castle of Visegrad, situated atop Visegrad Castle Hill.
Take a leisurely 30-minute walk in the green forest, under the trees near a delightful little creek and its waterfall. Afterward, enjoy a tasty lunch in Visegrad city, near the Danube, on the side of the castle hill. The restaurant, named Reneszánsz, is a medieval-styled establishment serving large portions of delicious, old-fashioned Hungarian dishes dating back to the 16th century. We then drive back to Budapest, and all of this can be accomplished in a relaxed 7-8 hours.
